How to Dye Hair Using Henna Powder

How to apply

– For short hair, a rough guide amount of Henna powder to use is around 50g. For longer hair, you’ll need to use around 150g for chin length hair, and around 200-250g for shoulder length hair and beyond.

– Firstly soak the Henna powder in a bowl with water for around 4 to 5 hours so that it forms an easy to apply paste. You can even use tea water which assists with conditioning your hair. Make sure you choose a bowl that you don’t use for any other food use at home. To achieve the darkest color result, use a metal bowl for the soaking stage.

– Apply the Henna paste in small sections to your hair, using a comb to spread it through your hair ensuring that your roots are covered.

– For a dark color result, allow the mixture to stay on the hair for around 2-3 hours. If you only wish to condition your hair, you can simply apply the Henna paste for around 30-40 minutes. You can add pure coconut oil as a conditioner too, this helps avoid any excess drying our of the paste and your hair.
